Son, please do not sell your kidney. I have been to a University, and then graduate school (and am a bit older than you). The news that will help you is that you don't need an Ivy League education, to succeed, in life! All that doesn't matter. There are fantastically brilliant professors available at State Universities, where you can get involved with research and make a name for yourself, without selling body parts to fund your education! I know. What you should do is look at sc holarship options at these state Universities--start calling around and speaking to advisors at these schools, and you may find that you can get your entire education funded, without paying (via scholarships and financial aid)! Once you work hard and get good grades at the University, you will get accepted to graduate school and can accomplish whatever you'd like to accomplish, with your education. Where you go isn't nearly as important as how you APPLY what you learn, at these places. YOU are the "x" factor, in your own success (NOT the "Ivy League" vs. State University)!! When you are young, people focus more on "names" of schools and there isn't a realistic perspective on what it all does (or doesn't) "mean". If you are on food stamps, you don't ask for a Corvette. You ask for a Hyundai, and then use the Hyundai to work 3 jobs, if you have to, to buy the Corvette (when you're 40 years old--not 18). Hope this helps you. If you are a hard worker (enough to be accepted into a "dream school"), then it won't matter WHERE you go to college. What will matter is what you will do, once you get to A college. Trust me! Good luck to you!!
