Standard queen bed frame should be made of 100% wood and has solid construction. Queen bed frame is the most important part of bunk bed. Standard queen bed size is should fit standard queen mattress dimensions: standard queen bed length - (not less than) 80’’ and standard queen bed width (not less than) 60’’ (there is no standard for queen bed height).

It is important for bunk bed to be big enough for kids and teenagers. Queen bed size for bunk bed is a good choice. Queen bed frame must be extremely sturdy. Queen bed dimensions should fit standard queen size mattress.
kimsing Posted February 12, 2010

Standard queen bunk bed is big enough for older kids to feel comfortable and private on both low and top bunks. Queen size bunk bed requires extremely solid frame, preferably from natural wood. Check mattress dimensions (height, width and length) before the order.

Bunk beds are excellent solution for college dorms. We bought big bunk bed (I think queen size) for my older son that was in college at that period. Frames and ladder– are the most important parts of the bed. They need to be solid and durable. Most standard queen size beds come with mattresses.

Bunk bed of good quality should last for decades. Important: 1) bunk bed’s frame should be made of 100% wood or metal 2) Dimensions: If it is a standard queen bunk bed- it should fit for standard queen size mattress dimensions (width and length) without or minimal gap.

I have 4 kids and two bunk beds. With no doubts, this is an optimal solution for families with many kids. My kids became older and I’m thinking of replacing my bunk beds to larger ones. I hope standard queen size bunk beds will answer all our needs. This is a good example of queen bunk bed with solid frame that will last for many years.

Queen size beds are for older kids/ teenagers. Standard dimensions of queen size are for width and length. There is no standard for height. Standard refers to mattress size. Frame should fit to standard queen size mattress. For teenagers railguards are not required. Sluts are must for every bunk bed.
kim_dan Posted February 10, 2010

Solid construction is the most important thing in bunk bed. Bunk bed frame should be incredibly strong and durable. I see that Bunk Loft Beds Co. uses only solid wood and adds sluts for better mattress support– which is good. Queen size is big enough for kids of any age.

Bunk beds are definitely reasonable solution for small rooms. My kid is in college and we bought nice bunk bed for his dorm room. Depends on the type of bunk bed, but my kid is really satisfied with the bunk bed.

I like the idea of queen bunk bed. Standard queen bunk perfectly fits for my 14 years old twins. They spend hours in their bedroom. My kids use queen bunk bed as a playground. Due to it large dimensions, they both could play on bunk bed and even invite their friends to participate. Our standard queen bunk bed is made of natural pine and has solid frame. I hope this bed will serve my kids till college. The only thing to mention: measure your room dimensions before you buy bunk bed! I made a mistake and did check the height of bunk bed. There is now standard for that. Even if you buy Standard queen bunk bed – it refers to mattress size only.
